Have you tried a spare key?
It is quite common if the key fob batteries are low for the doors to unlock, but the car not start.

You may have a K38 starter motor isolator that is playing up. You really need to get a meter onto the end of the starter motor to see if 12v is there with the key turned to start

do your electrics flicker when turning the key, could be a duff battery if so, have you tried a known good battery ?

If the car detects too low a voltage it will just refuse to turn over. (Its a merc thing). All lights will work, it will unlock fine, but no cranking, let alone a startup - sound familiar?
Check the battery.
