its a sad day

Well its a sad day for me i have to disown my son today he sent me a e-mail
yesterday dad sold car ( C180 ) going to look at new car tonight

e-mail this morning

dad got new car 320 BMW

any advice welcome do i let him come to my home with it after drumming it in to him Mercedes he does this to me its is new Bride the wife thinks sad sad day

well he'll learn soon enough, don't try and force him back into the 'fold'

the force is strong, he'll either see sense and come back to mercedes, or end up like all the other former mondeo drivers out there, and opt for a bmw.

I'm sure your wife is right when she says it's the new bride. Suggest to him that he trades her in too

Did they ever Malcolm ?. I didn't get a guarantee with mine 30 years ago, she just keeps changing the rules of engagement to confuse me !!!!.

BMW is a younger mans car and I hope he enjoys it, you should be happy for him too. If he started with Merc then he will come back to a Merc. His wife will be happier with the Merc as a slightly more mature person. Perhaps after she has her first child. So disown him, no, you should congratulate him on his fine taste. After all it could of been worse, he could of bought a volkswagen

Do you only wash your car when you get angry or are you thinking about this situation. Your son is your son, the merc is your pride and joy. Eventually your son will be your pride and joy when he buys the latest S class, give him time. Regards Eric.

Funnily enough my Dad congratulated me when I picked up a cheap BMW 740 a couple of years ago. He couldn't understand why a 96 740 with 140k on the clock was rust free while his W210 E320 he had from new in 96 and had covered 60k miles in was quietly turning to brown dust before his very eyes.

Surprised me at the time as I had vowed never to go near a BMW on principle!

Sometimes a change can be quite educational.
