its from a car for sale on ebay and caught my eye

but on the other side it does not have the gills thing

here is my thoughts

its a mod to stop the car getting too hot

many a winter night has passed when ive been at car meets with my chums and the ladies have made a point of sitting/leaning on the drivers side wing as it gets very warm where as the passenger side does not

so id say there is something very hot there so this is to ventalate it

still weird how ive seen hundreds of w124's and never seen this!

any ideas as mine needs 2 new wings and that looks mean so can i still buy them

Could be the auxillary heater in the OSF wing?

This is the standard osf wing on the later diesel variant of 124 series, (also on the saloon.) Bolide will give you the lowdown on the technical side.

Yes, it's the engine air intake on cars with OM606 and OM605 diesels (multivalve).

i had this done on my 205 , its quite cheap to get a company to press these into a wing , i had the bonnet done also. dont think it suits a merc though , more of a hot hatch thing imo

On the one in the picture the should have carried the louvers down over the rust, I agree with they do not suit a MB
