Hello All,

2 days ago I was at our local sport center, when i tried to reverse park in to this tight space, i accidently went over a raised kerb which rubbed under the body below the side skirts. I then saw some black mark on the kerb which was from this rubber groumet which is used as jacking point (Rubber had also come out of the housing). I think its a straight forward push on job but just wanted to double check if that is the case and how easy it is push it back in. I do not want to damage anything while doing it.

Should i use the original part of buy a replacement one from merc?

Many thanks

You push the outer cover in first Amo, then the center peg spreads the insert keeping it a tight fit!

I believe that they are just a push fit.
I had one replaced once on mine during a service - I hadn't even noted that it had gone!

I don't recall it being expensive so I'd approach MB first.

Hi,
If it is the same as a C class (which it should as a 208 is built on a 202 floorpan) it is item 68 in the link below,
http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...332F794887&CT=F&cat=44V&SID=60&SGR=030&SGN=03
Yes you should refit it as this is what the workshop ramp sits on when the car goes into the garage also can be used for a trolley jack support (if you use one).
The centre should push out so far, push the main body of the pad into the hole it came from, once located either push, tap home the centre with a hammer.
Just make sure there are no locating lugs damaged when it got dragged off.
I bought one new for mine it was approx. £10 from the stealers.
