Autocar has reported that Jaguar will cease production of the XE, XF and F-Type in June 2024!

Thereafter Jaguar will only produce SUVs. Jaguar's new era begins in 2025 with the introduction of a 600bhp electric four-seat GT car in the vein of the Porsche Taycan, which is thought to be followed a year later by a Bentley Bentayga-style luxury SUV and then a large luxury saloon. All will share the firm's new – and bespoke – JEA platform, and are entirely unrelated to its current models.

Having owned, & loved the E-Type & XK150 DHC I am very saddened by this announcement.

I’ll have to read the read the article.

It’s a shame as a proper saloon and coupe are good things. No offence to MB but the XF and F Type trounce anything similar that MB and many other manufactures knock out riding on the brands previous success.

What a shame as their 4.2/5.0 supercharged stuff is brilliant.

The article also says they have a number of electric saloons, like the Taycan, in their plans.

I think they need to go back to the drawing board with many suddenly jumping off the EV band wagon.

Always a risk deciding to lead the pack, Tesla did it but that was a carefully chosen price point, some would say there are enough rich people out there to lease/buy the new JLR EV models it’s what happens when the secondhand market don’t want them that really matters - I won’t be queuing up for one quite happy running a Hybrid petrol

Odd because I owned both an S-type and an XF before I "upgraded" to an SL and an E53.

I think the lyrics are Oh lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz rather than Jaguar. Interesting how many songs have Mercedes references compared to Jaguar, wonder why, if Jag are rea superior

According to Car Wow Mercedes are 5 places ahead of Jaguar...

22. Mercedes-Benz

Reliability rating: 56%

Average repair costs: £920

Of the three big German premium brands, it’s Mercedes-Benz that comes out on top in the reliability stakes – and its cars tend to be a bit more affordable to fix on average, according to Warranty Wise. However, with a reliability rating of 56% and a 22nd place ranking, Mercedes is some way from being the best brand in this list for durability.
