I have just purchased a Japanese W140 S500 in black from Japan. It has the Japanese command system which was not offered in other markets.
How can I convert this to single DIN or something that works in the UK that is in English??

This is a costly exercise. Japanese cars were wired totally differently to the rest of the world. Its not just a different head unit, its all the connectors and wiring its totally different.

Was going to say, I didn’t think that COMAND appeared before the W220...

As said above. I was looking at a R class a couple of years ago, also a Japanese import.
After doing some research and seeing that much of the electrics wouldnt work here I soon ditched the idea.

Regardless of the command. all antennes etc are set up for different frequencies.

The Japanese cars a usually rust free and low mileage. Its too late anyway as I have paid for it and it will be here mid January.
Also it black with full Lorinser styling and wheels. I will prob swap the wheels for Eltanins or AMG monoblocks and change the horrid square exhaust for twin oval pipes

Plus, it will likely have never gone over 40mph in its entire life. They’re not fast drivers!

Hi Mazi, how did you go about getting your W140 from Japan? I'm currently looking for a W140, not much choice in uk at the moment. Thanks.
