Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has caused outrage after blowing up a classic Routemaster bus worth £20,000 on his show.

A trailer of the DVD on the Top Gear website shows Clarkson blowing the Routemaster apart with a rocket. Written on the side of the bus are the words: "Wasting space and causing jams in your community".

It does annoy me when tv shows destroy old vehicles, but in reality if they buy soemthing its they're right to do what they like with it.

Its the same on the films when a perfectly good 126 gets wrecked, a nice 107 went last night on a film and a super113 the night before,,I suppose it make the ones left worth more.

The PP that Clarkson put in the swimming pool has beautiful on the inside, but the body was shot, but it still hurt,,guess we are a little old fashioned in our views

caravans and buses are not my favourite things .

Like the dung beetle JC is a necessary part of life. Without him and his kind we would be sinking beneath the weight of old vehicles.

Just as long as he stays away from the R129:lol:

Oy ! you leave the 129 alone it 'll live longer than the both of us .It's the father of all modern day mercs with all the electronic gizmos it's good training for any DIY mechanic so don't give Clarkson any ideas ,let him stick to caravans and buses as I like his ideas , me being a black cab driver ahem !

Malcolm many years ago I repainted a rolls royce, the colour I remember was silver chalice and the cars claim to fame was that it had appeared in several TV shows, one of the shows was the sweeney, and apparently it had been wrecked and burned and even doubled up as a second car in several episodes, the guy who owned it hired it out to the film companies, and what they did was they would drive it ito the scene of the smash, then replace it with a same coloured bodyshell with onion boxes for seats and dummies strapped inside ,no engine or gearbox, and then wreck the decoy, so in actual fact the car never was wrecked.. and unless its a high budget film few real vehicles get wrecked

I fail to believe that a bus worth £20K would get blown up. It was probably a scrap one that was worth nothing and they made it into a media exercise. Even with all of Clarkson's money, even he wouldn't throw £20K away.

As with our friend gordon, jeremy would tend to use the BBC funding so basically we kinda pay as we view..

The real scary part of this exercise is the absolute abuse heaped on Clarkson in the comments section. So many people with the time and motivation to write so many comments that can only be described as vile, but at the same time be totally irrelevant. Is it a reflection of society or just the envy of somebody successful? It sure ain't funny.

In the Morse series at one time the Jag was obviously a "non runner". It was blatently obvious in several episodes that the crew and gofers had been pushing the car just before it rolled into shot and trickled to a stop.
