i noticed a strange problem today on the 190e-1.8 with 115k on the clock.

while accelerating, there was like a jerking or hesitation.

the car starts fine, its been regularly serviced.i recently changed the rotor, the distributor cap and it had spark plugs about 6000 miles ago.
the fuel pump is noisy at times.

any ideas what could be causing the jerking?

You changed rotor, cap, & plugs but not the leads?

If the leads are old and starting to brak down, they could display this kind of symptom.

a reply at last.

am looking to change the sparkplug leads and fuel pump .

would eurocarparts be a good source for these?

Personally I would always use genuine components for crucial components like these but it is a personal choice as I am sure others would disagree and claim that they have had no problems with aftermarket parts.

have you thought about the fuel system? Similar probelm experienced on mine, changed, as you have most elec bits. Then changed fuel filter, Tank filter, fuel pump and accumulator. Ended up trying Injector cleaner, worked a treat, problem gone.

The Bosch fuel pump from ECP or GSF (cant remember which one! ) is half the price of the MB part and comes with alternative banjo's!
