my w123 300d wouldnt start this morning, realised the heater plug light failed to light up, could the febi glow plugs fitted in august really have failed, check for power to the first plug and 12v, but no power to the others, so take first plug out and well a bit suprised to find the loop completly gone?, question is how do i get it out.

Is your heater relay cutting out or is power going to plugs when it should not?

Is the voltage of the plugs matched to the output of the relay?

Did the plug come out easy enough or did you have to force.
I assume you lookes down the bore for missing bits

Thats a very brave move. Any chance of getting a small magnet down there. If that metal is in there and you start the car - you know what will happen?

are you certain the ring tipped plugs are right for the car?

Or straight out of the exhaust if your lucky!

I upgrade these to the new style GPs, they start much better and are more reliable. There is an adapter set to allow you to use the newer ones.
