Can anyone assist ???

I have recently purchased at 1996 S320 - and found that when i'm driving at speeds between 50 - 60mph there is a serious judder in the steering wheel

This only appears betweens the above speeds and is otherwise as smooth as silk - can anyone suggest what it might be ?

any answers would be most welcomed.

Regards

MM

Hi,

In my experience its the classic speed for wheel balance problems to show up.

If the judder is still there once you have had the balancing checked, it likely to be your steering damper.

They regularly pack up and cause a wobble. Cheap repair.

It may also be worth getting all four wheels checked for alignment. Take it to a tyre shop with a laser alignment system. I have recently had this done on my car and all trace of a wobble has gone.
