Over the past 4 weeks my E AMG Line has developed a judder when braking, I know the E is prone to this issue.

the car has 56k on the clock, it’s been an intermittent issue for many months, but it was very faint.

Over this past few weeks it’s been quite pronounced! Over 50mph-70mph is where it’s felt, there no feeling in the brake pedal or steering wheel, it’s through the car seat and it’s when you apply the brake pedal with very gentle braking to normal braking.

Driving the car from cold is fine, it’s once the brakes have been applied and there’s some temperature in them that the issue starts.

If the front discs have warped, wouldn’t this be felt in the brake pedal/steering wheel?

I think if it’s through the seat , it’s coming from the rears , but could be discs or sticking caliper

Judder under light braking is usually suspension bushes or alignment, under light and heavy braking is usually disks.

The alignment was done not to long ago, this is a new issue, but had a faint judder that came and went during the summer.

Would bushes be gone? 56k 17 plate?

Thanks

Impossible to say as it depends on driving style, road conditions etc.

The car is due it’s service at Mercedes next Friday, so I will mention it to them and see, I am sure they will be honest when it comes to making money, once they give there findings, I shall buy my own discs if it turns out to be those.

Thanks
Luke

And when the nice new shiny and very expensive parts don't cure the problem they will just shrug their shoulders and say "well we can replace the rears" and then "the front suspension bushes". Of course you'll be paying for it all. When I have a similar chassis issue I get my MOT guy to put it on the rollers and also check out the bushes, bearings etc. £20 towards that days lunch means that you are always welcome.;)
