Hello
1st timer in need of some v basic advice!

The battery is dead on my c180 2004. When previously jump starting cars I have done direct from negative to negative terminal and positive to positive terminal.

I now understand the negative should go onto a negative ‘contact’ (away from the battery rather than directly on it) and am trying to locate this. On the attached photo I believe it to be the area circled in blue am after a second opinion. The area circled black is the battery terminal.

If anyone is able to confirm.

thanks in advance.

Also the cars manual always gives the jump start procedure

Rather than jump start you would be better to charge the battery. 60 odd amps straight into a dead battery will really shorten its life.
