Just bought a W222 S Class

I have just bought a very nice W222 S500 to replace my old W221. Noticed a couple of things so far if anyone can help.

a) There are no live traffic updates - car says I need a subscription but they worked fine in the old W221?
b) Seat doesn't move back with the Easy Entry/Exit feature activated
c) Should the COMAND remote operate the front screen?

Not even looked at all the Driving aids, massage seats etc yet!

Hi Steve,
The first thing to do is to enter the car's VIN on one of the decode sites to get your datacard, which will tell you exactly which options you have.

Enjoy the new car, the 4.7 biturbo is a beast with silk gloves on. Full throttle is a bit scarey.

Traffic updates on mine were a subscription. Cost me about £150 for 3 years.

The easy entry seat on mine works for my wife's setting which is a way forward but not for me who has it nearly all the way back. The steering wheel goes up for both of us.

Just a thought on the easy entry/exit... have you actually programmed your position in to memory yet?

On a friend's previous car (from Bavaria), it wouldn't do anything until memory positions were filled.

On all my previous cars with that function, seat would just return to its previous position.

if not this will be the interesting toy for you...

Traffic on the 221 was free and the slow only major roads clunky thing - but over the years it seems they update more often than the 20 min update it used to use

I also have to agree that usually I prefer to buy any car privately and put the money the money in the hands of someone in more need to feed a family/buy something due to changing circumstances than like the pockets of dealers/traders. However so long as the car is right, it should sell itself, with a decent reasonable seller (private or trade) just being a bonus.
