im just curious about how many miles i can travel on my reserve tank, incase i find myself in the middle of nowhere wiv out my tom tom to tell me where the nearest petty is. i got a e220 coupe if that helps, cheers

I could be wrong, but I think the reserve is about a gallon or a little bit more. I don't let my cars go below quarter tank just in case, and also this helps to stop the pump from sucking up any crap that collects in the bottom of the tank over time.

cheers for the quick response only reason i asked is that im goig up to the peak district and i didnt want to be caught short, im one of these ppl who want to know everything and not leave things to chance, but thbaks fior the info.

Derbyshire isn't the outback wilderness you seem to fear.

Not sure about your individual car but the 100 ltr tank on my sprinter has accepted 103-104 ltrs on many occasions and I shouldn't tempt fate but I have yet to run out accidentaly in over half a million miles of motoring. This also prevents crap collecting in the bottom of the tank as it is caught by the fuel filter and then removed at the appropriate filter services.

Just fill up as you get close and you should be fine for days. You are staying in an area that is not much more than about 30 miles across.

Had a wonderful weekend was really relaxing and it wa sthe first time i took the car on a long run felt excellent on the motorway.
