Hi, Ive found myself with a fintail Coupe as a part exchange, and would like to run the car, however i'm finding it difficult to track down a supplier for parts for the thing! Its a '65, and i'm after some service parts such as points and condenser, and also some trim parts. Can anybody on here point me in the right direction? :D

If the car is a 116 then any cap will do, a 9volt coil uses a 3.3mfd cap and the 12volt 2.2mfd

In Germany there are 114 and 116 clubs that can supply most parts

Hi guys, cheers for the welcome.

Car is a 1965 W111 220 SEb coupe. Might give the local dealers a shout, although I dont think the ones in Swansea have been dealing in MB that long. Worth a go though!!

I don't think it matters how long they have been dealers, they will have access to the MB network for parts and should be able to order using your Vin No.

MB pride themselves on being able to service parts for older models.

Whether your local dealer will have the catalogue is another matter. On my EPC it is not listed, however, I know that in Stuttgart there is a dealer called MB Classic Cars. They specialise in restorations and as such can source very many parts. They have an official tie-in with DBAG.

MB supply an official parts price file for their classic models, but I am unable to access this at the moment as I'm on extended sick-leave :-|

It may take a few 'phone calls, but you shouldn't have too much problem in sourcing your parts.

Good luck!

Well, it now runs and drives!! :D

I think that if I can find a classic merc breaker in the UK the trim will turn up, somebody has got to have the bits I need kicking about somewhere.

So, now I am on the hunt for a rear silencer, then i'm not far off an MOT really!!! :D

which model do you have ???

111.014

111.021

111.023

You will see in the VIN.

Very valuable cars if in good condition. Very worthwhile fitting nothing but original Merc parts to maintain the integrity and value for a future collector.

Its a 111.021

Not in bad nick, but being a UK car it has seen the hot end of a welder in the past! ;)
