Hi guys, I have just swapped my beloved e63 amg for a new e320 cdi sport.

The deal was just too good to turn down + we are expecting a baby, so it's time to get all sensible.
I've have had the brabus chip fitted. I had it delivered to my house with it already fitted, so I unfortunately did not get to drive it 'unchipped'.
My question is,
How can I tell it has definately been chipped? Is there a bright shiny red chip I should be looking for in the engine management, or is it just a remap and I have to take their word for it?
Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but coming from an e63 it just feels slow, so I have no way to guage if it has been done or not.
Thanks guys.

The only way that you can tell is to have the engine ECU read out, as chipping does not always mean an extra chip, the existing one is often re mapped

Hi there,

This ECU will not have a CHIP replacement it is just software based.

Our Software will see you around 40 BHP and 100 - 110 NM of torque .

Kind Regards GCL Tuning

Ok guys, thanks for the help, I guess I will have to take their word for it.
I did find a load of brabus stickers/transfers in the glovebox, not that that means anything of course.

Brabus box = £1500 - Generic - poor Gain's - restricted - non adaptive - falsifying Signals

Custom developed REMAP = £300 - £800 (for merc) - Custom - Power where and when you want - Adaptive - smother - specificity for performance or economy - the allowance of limiter remover - speed limiting

Just some quick PRO's and CON's

Regards GCL Tuning

Go and drive a dealer demo std car, but in reality anything will feel slow compared to what you had.

Yeah, thats my problem, it does feel slow, but not as slow as I expected, so I'm pretty satisfied anyway.
I can't drive a standard version unfortunately, because I am in a wheelchair and have to use hand controls.
Thanks for the info gcl, but I have already had the brabus fitted.

hi Budvarholsten

You must be mental chopping your 63 for the 320 but i suppose there is no point rearranging the contents of you new born's tummy every time you go for a spin.

The brabus tuning chip/box should be mounted under the bonnet, it a little black box with brabus written on it about the size of a ciggarette box and it should have leads leading towards the injectors at the top of the engine if you pull off the black plastic engine compartment.

well where with the 320 but i still think your mad.
