As above, full service C as directed by the ASSYST.

E320 CDI 2005, and had it done with 760 miles to go.

I note the ASSYST now indicates a Service C in 9690 miles....

Is that not a bit light? I would have expected some more leeway.

Or am I paranoid?

I had the same problem as you. When the car is very low mileage the count down changes to either time or low miles, Wait till Jberks sees the post, he knows the answers

9690 miles is around 15000 km, hence the odd number.
Allegedly, if you go back to the dealer, they can program assyst to give longer service intervals based on the fact that they put better oil in, and that allegedly MB are dropping assyst in favour of fixed intervals again. That said, I keep forgetting to ask so 3k on, I'm down to 6k left again.
Also, if you can, never take it in with anything left on assyst, or you're throwing your money away. Far better to go over. you have about 1,000 miles leway. I normally try to get it done with 200miles or so over.

I had similar, first service gave interval of 12.5k miles (20K kilometers), and 2nd gave 9.5k miles (or 15k kilometres)
I did take it up with the dealer principal, after a few unreturned calls to the service manager, who had the car back in. They could not get the interval back to 12.5k miles, they could only reset it to 9.5k miles - but I'd done about 1.5k miles, so this meant in reality I had 11k ish as an interval. I was told that the interval would increaseover time - but guess what - it hasn't. This may work with the 210s, (which measure oil quality) but not the 211s, (which takes it ready from teh ECU, I think?) which seem pretty constant. I will look for a good indie next time, MB allow this whilst the car is under warranty , as long as MB parts are used

Just to give you confidence. Mine has been serviced twice at an indie and MB didn't bat an eyelid when it needed some bits doing under warranty recently. They honoured it without question.

Hi All

Since retiring my annual mileage has approximately halved from 12,000 miles per year to around 5,000. If I understand the way my ASSYST operates I can expect the period between services to be about the same but the ASSYSTed mileage between services will be reduced? For example, if prior to retirement the ASSYSTed service intervals were 15,000km, in retirement the intervals are likely to be around 6,000 - 7,000km.

Kingsize, I take it you must be doing very high miles or why would you put the car in for a service when it still has 760 miles to go?

It had to go in for a warranty repair on the satnav - so two birds with one stone, as it were.

The beauty of it was, however, that i have service plus, and the bill of £900+ was taken care of.

So, it does not concern me financially, they can set it at 5k for all I care, as I pay a flat rate whatever the service costs and whatever work needs done!

I do about 22k p.a.
