I own a 190E 2.6 1991. Excellent Condition....I dont know alot about cars, but i luv to learn  I just moved from Tenn. to mich...It is the coldest day Me or the car has experienced!! I went out to start it ...and it took 15-20 minutes to get it to roll over.. I have never had a problem w/this car......Once it started, it was fine...I shut it off, and restarted, and it was fine......Im afraid that the cold weather is going to cause problems.....im confused why it wouldnt roll over!!!!!

Expedition Engine Block Heater/Battery Warmer, For 650 CCA BatteryKit has a Battery Warmer that wraps around the battery and includes an engine block heater as well. Once installed, simply hook it up to any heavy-gauge extension cord (not included) and plug into a standard wall outlet.I am not sure of price for mercedes but we have used them on Landrovers in Iceland.
Here is a number to phone=Toll Free 1-886-859-1051.

You MUST have good battery preferably heavy duty one. Sometimes if the pre-engaged starter solenoid freezes it cannot move to engage the ring gear or make contact to allow the battery to turn over the starter motor. All you get is a clicking sound when you try to tun the engine over. Quick dirty solution is to pour hot water on to body of the solenoid to defrost it. PROBLEM IS THAT THIS MAKES THE PROSPECT OF FREEZING AGAIN PRETTY HIGH so really only recommended in an emergency! Russian motorists recommend turning on your lights for a few minutes. this relatively low current heats the battery electrolyte so it can carry the heavy starting current better, but only advisable with a well charged battery. Some form of preheater in coolant water would apppear to be the best solution provided you have access to an electrical supply, not always available in city street parking. You might think of running a thin multigrade 5/50 synthetic oil like mobil rally 1 to minimise oil drag on starting also. GOOD LUCK

Try and go for the bigest and highest amp you can fit in the holder.
One of the best for extreme conditions is [OPTIMA] or [EXIDE MAXXIMA]They are expensive.
