Just purchased a 2010 E350 CDI Coupe

Hi everyone,

New to the forum and new to Mercs so I'm hoping this is the place to be for advice and general Mercedes community. My old man always had E Class estates while we grew up as kids with his final one being a similar vintage 2012 E250 CDI, so it's a special feeling owning a sister car to one of his.

Last car though was a faithful Honda S2000, so it's quite a change but what a lovely car!

I'll have a good look on the forum but the first snag I've run into is Bluetooth connectivity. It seems to work with older iPhones but not with my newer Huawei. Is this a common issue for an 11 year old system, and if so what is the accepted remedy with these cars? Here's a couple of pictures of the new car...

I have a 2011 MB and it works fine with both Huawei P30 Pro and Pixel 6.
Maybe yours needs an software update?

I'll have another crack at it when it comes back from the wheel shop but it's quite possible this Huawei/Honor phone is just being problematic; wouldn't be the first time.

Been researching an updated screen and system such as this - Android Auto - as it looks fairly standard yet more modern but if the standard unit will connect then it should be sufficient.

Had mine for 4 years now (petrol though) enjoy every drive

As above, no issues with BT calls or streaming.
Contact Comand On Line with your VIN and they can let you know if it needs a firmware update (they also do map updates)

Welcome Cirrus, those seats are very nice. Bluetooth works well on my 2010 E, I have a Samsung phone which I've had a few months now. Sometimes it does take a few times to 'discover' and connect up.

We had no problem connecting both our phones to the command system on the SLK so assume they are the same system. My wife's Huawei however wasn't compatible with the 09 plate SLK, never were able to suss that out.

Ah. I have a suspicion that I could be in the same boat. Maybe it's to do with the generation of Bluetooth, I'll have to figure it out when I get it back from the wheel refurbishment place... which reminds me, I've forgotten to source new centre caps!

Centre caps available from a well known auction site. Cheap as chips! Genuine ones from MB are expensive, sometimes genuine ones come up on said auction site (but who knows if they are genuine) but the cheap ones look OK for a couple of years!

My Command ntg2.5 in the 2012 Viano has no interest in finding my iPhone12.... but with Siri functionality it's no big deal so I haven't looked into it.

Thanks for the welcome gents.

What mods did you do, out of interest? It seems fairly pokey as standard and I'd like to keep it 100% standard, however I'm open to suggestions as always.
