I've always had bad dreams about this, particularly when using an alarm with remote controller.
I only have one remote that at present works fine, although it is 10 years old & looks like its been over used.

Other half's 107 was only supplied with 1 from new & peageot say itll cost 35 squid + vat to replace, as key has to come from factory database for that chassis & an exorbident 15 mins labour for the dealer to attach a new button holder to new key from France - Rip off or what!

So do the RAC / AA Green Wag etc carry alarm immobilisers?

If not then were all right in it up to our .., unless you Merc experts know any different.

Any comments

Cheers,
Keith.

You open the door with the key,

and switch off the alarm manually (cannot on all cars though).

£35 is cheap. Alfas can cost over £100

Thanks for answer Pascal .. & would like your opinion about importer

1) Know what you mean, but my model must have been one of the last to be fitted by MB dealer & signal sender is seperate from key with a proper Merc insignia on it.

As was confirmed to me by Milton Keynes techie 6 wks ago when I bought it.
This Scorpion alarm has 2 horns: 1 under bonnet & other in yer face under steering wheel - making driving along with it on unbearable!

I do believe him cos I bought a brand new E220 back in 94 and the model I have now is only month's prior to that one that had the flicknife key with button built in.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) Have tried sending administrator a sensetive email yesterday, without any answer, would have tried you 1st but your email isnt available to me.

In short have Milton Keynes tel no to give out to those unfortanates who are getting rust popping up all over & dealers not being very sympathetic.
Trouble is I would'nt like to see MK being innundated with calls from other unqualifying members without a valid cause.

MK (as I'm sure you already know) is the main importer & can give the dealers a rocket or 2 when it comes to thier misshandling customers.

Please tell me whether you think I should post it or not.

Many Thanks, Keith.

Keith they will only transfer you over to their customer services department in Masterict to get a case number. They seem to have moved nearly all the staff there.

Better to write to them, recorded delivery:

Mrs Jill Palmer (head of customer services)

Mr Dermot Kelly (director)

Mr Wilfred Stefen (manager)

All above at:

Daimler Chrysler UK Ltd
Tongwell
Milton Keynes
MK15 8BA

TEL: 00800 17777777

If you do not get a reply, or your reply is not up to your satisfaction, better ask your solicitor. (well that is what I would do)
