I have a C200 petrol Auto, 1996. The alarm system played up as follows. Get out of car, press fob, car locks but red light on door doesn't work. Press fob again car opens but imoberliser wont go off. Sit in car press fob, car locks, press fob car opens and green light in mirror flashes few times and imboliser wont turn off. Tried all AA tested means to get it working includeing removeing fuses 24, 27. Also disconected Battery. Changed Batterys in fob and then got no signal at all, so car is totaly up creek. Grateful for and ideas and replys. Thanks

Does the red LED in the mirror work when you lock?? If not, chances are the mirror is faultly. The mirror can be repaired with any LED if you are confident with soldering fiddly bits.

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
As Type49 red L.E.D. needs to work otherwise it causes immobiliser problems.
Had the same fault with my C230K new L.E.D. fitted and its perfect.
