Key Cutting!

Sorry not sure where to put this

Going to be buying a 190 from a lady who has lost the key!

Now how on earth do i go about getting another?

It's a G plate so no fancy electronic keys :)

I would check with a MB dealer first if they can supply one to the current owner if they provide all the necessary documents.

Go to a dealer with the V5, ID and about £15 and a key will take about 5 days to come from Germany. If the V5 is not in your name I'd think they'll refuse so I'd get the vendor to do it before sale or call a dealer to ask if a V5/c is sufficient for them

Yes, goto a Merc Dealer they will order a key by using the VIN. As mentioned above you will have to establish ownership. When I bought my 420 I only had one key and had to produce my title to have spare ordered. Cost was about $16.00 to have this done.

Keep in mind that if you need to replace any keyed item. Such as a door or trunk lock this too is ordered from you Merc Dealer using the VIN and proof of owners ship.

Just had a spare cut
Took 5 days
You need a picture ID and Registration documents with the same name as pic ID
cost £9.50
