I recently installed a remote central locking kit on my W124, and it's working excellently.
The kit came with two key blades in the same shape as the original W124 keys, which can be cut to match the original keys and then inserted into the remote for an OEM look.
I took my keys and the blades into Timpsons and asked if they could copy my key onto the blade, and the assistant told me I would have to go to the main dealer for that.
Am I being conned here? The W124 key does not have any electrics in it, it's just a basic key so surely they could copy it, since that's what they do right?
