Hi all,

My key fob doesn’t lock/unlock the doors, however it pops open the trunk and starts the engine. My car is a Mercedes C class w204 2010 model.

I have replaced battery in case the old one was worn.

Any suggestions please.

Guessing you’re on the other side of the pond? :) hello and welcome!

I’d guess that the IR part of the key fob (or the IR sensor in your door handle) has failed.

doesn't the remote central locking work off rf? I know that I can unlock my car from miles away ... but have to be stood next to the door to shut/open windows on the key

Sounds to me more like a leak in one of the air circuits. The boot is usually on a separate circuit.

Thanks everyone. Sorry for my late reply. In the end just took it to a local dealer. The key was faulty. All good now
