Key fob for 1997 SLK

Hi. I recently bought a 1997 SLK supplied with only one fob and key. Enquired at local MB dealer and quoted £150+VAt for a 2 button fob and told they do not programme a fob from another car to suit mine.
Does anyone programme fobs if I buy a 2 button model from E-bay?
This is my first time on the forum and I'd appreciate all advice

Hi,
Welcome to the forum, the only solution is MB item I,m afraid, as they cannot be reprogrammed.
£150 for a key is cheap apparently some are over £200 now.

Andy's right, MB dealer is your only option - don't waste your money on e-Bay.
Don't forget to take your log book, passport and a utility bill with you when you go to order your key. Mine was £148 including VAT, took a week to arrive, and you have to have the car with you when you collect it.
