Key Fob not working

Hi all, help needed with key fob problem. Brought a S class few weeks ago with two key fobs, but have found that one dose not work, (buttons or in ignition) changed the battries, still not working, dose this mean a trip to the stealers to have it recoded?

you didnt say how old the car was so have to guess what type of key it is

If the 220 on its a DAS key, the locking part uses the batteries, and when in the ignition they do not, to check the locking part hold in front of a digital camera and pess a button and the IR close range beam can be seen.

For the ignition part, leave key in ignition switch for up to 90 mins and try
