Only guessing as I've never had a key less car ... what about removing the battery of the fob you have to rule it out or stick it in the biscuit tin?
If your still starts, then I'd guess the missing fob is indeed inside your car. :)

I suspect that is a clue as to where the missing fob might be! As Emilys dad says, make sure the remaining fob is taken out of range/inside a cake tin and then check the lining of your coat for the missing fob...

They don't have a range of 100 metres.

But it's unlikely to actually be in the car as mine won't lock if I accidentally leave the fob in the car.

Please put up a picture of your key as there's quite a few variants...

Most have a removable metal emergency key, once that is out there is a small spring loaded catch to move then the keyfob opens up

If the 2nd key is over 100 meters away, it would be astounding its speaking to the car.
I would search below and along the sides of the seats, or in the grass or shrubs near the car (if there is any) My wifes Mini has keyless go, and unless the key is in the car it will not start.
You need to search, what about in the boot ?, glove box ?

Why not drive the car away from home, give the key you used to get it to someone ( obviously a trusted friend, passenger) and get them to walk away.
Then when they are away, see if the car starts....

Yes, well it’s in the car and no, it’s at home

You can’t lock a car with keyless entry with the keys inside so unless the car is permanently unlocked they not in the car

Agreed, I couldn't lock the boot on my W213 when my spare key was in my jacket in the boot - took me awhile to work that out...

As far as I’m aware the car won’t lock if the key is in the boot not the actual car. So my guess is it’s in the car somewhere ....

Good luck finding it though ....

Thanks blimp, still can't find the ****** thing, as people say if it's in the car it won't lock, but it does lock. And if I leave the fob at home and drive 300 metres away the start button flashes and starts
