Just had a minor crash in my e320 cdi. Repair was done by Mercedes dealer. Since i have had the car back, the two key fobs i have are taking much longer to open the doors. Sometimes it can take up to 5 minutes. I have replaced the battery in each fob but it is still not working right. Mercedes said they have not tampered with anything although they had to reset the panoramic sun roof. Has anyone got any idea of what the problem might be. I would appreciate any help you might be able to give me. Many Thanks, Danny

your key transmits 2 signals, infra red and radio - the infra red receiver is the black square on your front door handles ( the key must be pointed towards the square to operate this ) this operation will probably be working ok on your car. The problem will be the radio signal ( this allows you to operate locking from a distance ) the radio receiver is mounted on the 'C' pillar behind the interior trim and it is not uncommon for this to fail it may even be related to your repair if it was in that general area. Replacement will cost you around £300 from your dealer.
Hope this helps !!
