Key Fob

Hi all

Any ideas on how much a replacement key fob is for a W211 E320 CDI?

Mine is damaged although working and perhaps wouldnt be a bad thing to have a spare although I am suspecting it may cost quite a bit for a replacement?

for the fob prob about £6, but over £200 for the key

If its the key your after, I think you need to take Driver Licence, V5 and Passport. Then a 2 week wait

you have no choice, only MB can program the key, the metal key can be cut in other places, but the leccy bit is MB only

yeah makes sense I suppose, you buy into all this type of security so its all good but just will have to make do with key I have :O)

I did what malcolm told me, if you have a saloon, you need a three button key, if an estate, its a two button key i believe, ckeck it out, buy one on Ebay and swap the curcuit boards over, there is a sticky somewhere telling you how to do this, I did it and saved £200, works well, don`t forget to swap the metal key.

Hi, I have just brought an E220 CDI 2003 50K Estate. The car came with 2 keys...a 2 button which opens and starts the car no problem and a 3 button which does neither. I have changed the batteries etc. but just noticed the comment above about a 2 button / 3 button and wondered if I have been given the wrong key and need to visit MB to get this re-programed or replaced. Thanks...Don

Hobdayd - looks like you've been given a key to a saloon (the third button opens the boot).

Take it back to the dealer and get it replaced at their cost.

These keys can not be reprogrammed. They come direct from MB. The most that you can do is repair one, but the three button key is definitely NOT for your car.

The original key for my 230K Estate is a 3 button key but the third button does not functon seperately for the tail gate. I did buy a replacement/spare key a couple of years back and that when it turned up was a 2 button
