Key remote

I currently have my 171 SLK jacked up off the floor with the front wheel off on an axle stand. (Wheel away for painting). Went to get in it tonight and the remote won't unlock the doors -nothing! Tried both keys. I know the battery is OK as I only used it 2 days ago. The remote batteries also OK. Would it be anything to do with immobilizer and jacked off the floor?
