Key synchronisation W210

I have a W210 320cdi yr 2000. I lost one of my keys recently and, as you will all know, MB want around £150 for a new one. However a friend has a spare from a long departed car, also a W210, and which appears to be the same. I seem to recall reading somewhere that one can programme another new key if you have one of the originals but can anyone advise me how this can be done?

Thanks

Malcolm

No chance.

If it can be done, I have no confident with Merc keys keeping and will not pay £200 for a replacement key. My cars will be stolen easily like some Mitsubishi Shogun.
