Hi,

Some basta*d has done the complete side of my car with a key or the like, two scratches on each of the four panels. Is there really any alternative but to have it resprayed properly? Has anyone else had scratches dealt with other than a respray?

Thanks,

Hi,

Got in touch with Chips UK, they sent something to Chips Denmark who contacted Chips Germany(Hamburg) put me in touch with Chips nearer to Frankfurt(only 200 km away).

When I told him that he would be looking at six or seven scratches 8 inches long he suggested it may be a liitle too much for them.

It now looks set for a paint job at Merc, bargain at 4000 euro's, insurance will love that.

Still I forgive the ba**ard that did it, yeah right.

Thanks for the Chips hint I will remember it for when I do come back and live in England soon.

Bye.

I had the same thing ith my 190E, not being a new vehicle, I didn't want to invest in a respray, especially if it's going to happen again. Got a bottle of black T-Cut polish (not cutting compound) with what looked like a stick of lipstic, but was wax. A crayon would probably do the same thing. Rubbed the 'chipstik' as they called it into the scratch then polished over it. It is hardly noticable unless you get on your knees and look for it.

Hi,

Got in touch with Chips away over here in Germany, too badly damaged for them so it's in for a side re-spray. The insurance have already paid me the money, works a little different over here.

I'll hope for a nice job when it's back end of next week.

See ya,
