Hi all,

First post so I hope it's in the right place, and please don't have a go if not!

My C219 has functioning Keyless Entry (KE) (to an extent, pending a few new £200 handles), and allegedly Keyless Go(KG).

The KG doesn't work but gives no error codes.

I'm considering replacing the module, but could somebody confirm if it is just one module in the N/S/R door that controls both KG & KE. Also, if KE works but KG doesn't, is it likely that the module would be faulty?

The KG (stop/start button on gearshift) does nothing. I've been following a thread in the USA where they give in depth pictures about lifting up the interior centre console and can resolder a wire that commonly becomes disconnected; this is one potential problem but button/module could be an issue itself?

I've been struggling to remove the leather panels on the side of the centre console, as there appears to be no lugs, but also goes all the way back to the rear passenger heater (unlike the E class).

Does anyone have any ideas on removing (leather side panel so I can get to) the gear shifter module so I can get access to the KG wire?

You need to check the actual values before replacing modules!

Are you saying that the lock/unlock on the door handles works correctly?

If so, it's very common to have damaged pins on the start/stop button where people twist the knob to try and remove it.

What are you using to read the codes?

Yes door and boot handles work correctly.

I'll have another look at seeing if there's any power going to the button, as that may help rule out something.

I haven't been using anything to actually check error codes (like OBD) but just the dashboard giving no malfunction notices.
