Does anyone know if the key is programmable so that the seats and mirrors adjust to the key? I thought that the seats and mirrors could be programmed to my preferences or my wifes just by approaching the car with our different keys. Anyone?

Supposedly yes, But it may be a dealer operation.
(with BMW this is the case and it's about £10 per option- so make sure that you get the settings just right.)

But, you should still be able to do it with the internal memory buttons...

Ok, on my SL, you can tell the dash board whether you want "key independace" or not.

Key independance means that if you use a different key then all the memories, cluster settings etc change to match that key.

The keyless go cards count as different keys, and different to the normal keys. (Ie, effectively 4 different keys, with 3 memory settings per key)

Unsuprisingly I turned this off, and all my keys behave the same, my wife is Memory 1, I am Memory 3, and the kid's car-seat setting is Memory 2.

I presume the feature is available on all vehciles that are available with keyless go - whether its avaialble for all newer cards or not I dont know

Oops, forgot to say that yes everything moves to the right position for the key being used when you get into the car (or in the case of keyless go, when you start the car)

Do I understand this correctly: If I put keydependency "on" with the car started with my key and my settings, it willl automatically adjust to that the next time I start the car with my key?

As well as memorising the seats etc, the memory will also store the electronic dashboard settings, so you could programme a key or card to show KPH, and have your display in a foreign language if the desire so took you.The KPH is obviously usefull for any european trip.
