Knocking From Front Suspension

Hi all,

I was getting a knocking from my W210 front suspension a while back, and both lower front ball joints were replaced. This all but cured the knocking, though some noise persisted.
When the car was MOT'd last month, I asked the mechanic to pay particular attention to the front explaining about the noise. The car passed fine, and he reported that all was well.
Is the anything else I should be looking for under here that would be common for causing a slight knock?
It is brought on mainly by driving over poorly surfaced roads, it's like kind of a tapping/rattling. It appears to be coming from behind the line of the front wheels.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Did you have the anti roll bar bushes changed? I found that the anti roll bar bushes were making the knocking noise and the lower ball joints made no noise.

Hi mate,

No nothing else has been changed apart from the ball joints. Are you talking about the saddle bushes on the anti roll bar, or are there drop links on the ends?
I can't recall the suspension setup from memory.

Hi mate,

What kind of money was in that repair? The drop links look straightforward, although I'm not sure about the middle bush.

£35.61 for the parts from MB (10th March 05) & £15 labour Although that wasn't dealer prices...
