Hi

Anyone got an answer to a problem with 1997 SL320?
1. Have had a slight rattle/knocking noise (actually more of a creak!) from front drivers side which is first heard when I barely touch the brakes, but becomes more noticeable when driving at low speeds over bumps etc., Recently had new front tyres and asked garage to check it out, but nothing reported back although the noise stopped temporarily. Started again about 3 days later.

Anti roll bar bushes, these are the bushes that the anti roll bar passes through, one each side, back and front, use a silicon or PTFE spray

Thanks for this BlackC55 - How easy is it to test if this is the cause ? or do I need to take it into a garage?

Just look underneath yourself and see if they are no longer snugly fitted to the ARBar.

TV do you have a pic of an ARB so this gentleman can see?

television - does this mean they need replacing? and since the car has FMBSH should I get it done with MB or any reputable garage? or is it something I could do?

thank you for this:) - I will try this in the morning - I assume the silicone spray won't be detrimental to the adjacent parts?

Its the safest thing in the world, and it will harm nothing The PTFE one (Screwfix or tool shops) is perfect and leaves no stains and does not dry.

Good luck with it
