Latest Paint and Corrosion Protection Processes?

I've got a W124 from 1991 and it has no rust. I've also got an Audi S4 from 1999 and whilst its not rotting away, there is evidence of small under paint spidering of corrosion in a few places.... Its not obvious, but is there if you look hard, whilst the W124 doesn't seem to have any! Even the front wings above the front bumper!

....The S4 is galvanised, but as far as I know the W124 isn't.

Does anybody know what Mercedes do for corrosion protection on their latest vehicles? Is there a document?

I'm sort of wondering about getting a 1-2 yr old ML and wonder if its reasonably well made.... The ML brochure is pityful compared to the 'old school' brochures!

One of my fears is that its made in the USofA and with most things I've seen they don't seem to be as good as those produced in the fatherland!

from 2003 04 they are galvernized and from 2004 04 they have the ceramic nano paint.
