Recently the LED display on the Alpine stereo in our E220 has died. Just blank although the radio/CD player works fine. You just have no idea what station or CD track you're on.

As the whole front of the unit pops off so you can take it with you, maybe the best thing is to replace that, but can anyone recommend a car stereo repair facility in the south Oxfordshire to west London area ?

Contacts on the back of the panel look ok. Do you mean contacts inside of the pop off unit ? Might have a look inside there, but wary of doing damage. Probably no user friendly bits in there anyway, just circuit boards.

The best car radio man in your area left Chinnor last year and living peacefully in Yorkshire.

The fault could be on the panel or a missing voltage from a driver in the head unit.
Mind you don't get arrested but keep walking round Tesco car park and find one the same .when the owner appears ask to try it in their car.
