Left stranded Ecu cooling fan

Just had to call out the AA, driving car when abs.bas warning lights came on, stopped turned engine off to try to clear the fault, tried to restart and nothing car locked in park no cranking of engine nothing! AA arrives checked it out decides its the cooling fan for the ECU thats gone any body known this before, just want to check before ordering one £93 cheers Dave

It blows the fuse on the K40 relay under the plastic cover on the left hand side of the engine bay.

The fan isnt really needed so it can be unplugged.

I suspect its an ignition switch fault though.

Yes, you do need the fan..........MB didnt fit it just for fun!, it's fitted to stop the ecu from overheating.......... the very same reason that computers have a fan fitted to the cpu......

Please Panosonic MB say that it is not needed and it is removed for the mod, this is an oficial MB modod for all 210.s
