Hi

The centre console does not illuminate, so when driving at night I cant see easily to select the gears. Fuse?

If other lights are gone then it is a fuse but if it is only the selector light then it is a bulb that needs replacing.
Don’t know what car/year you have but this may guide you through it.

if the rest of the dash illumination is ok then I'd go for the bulb under the prnd... panel. Lift the wooden trim and I believe its accessible from there.

I just noticed in your picture that your selector part is the opposite way round to mine so you may have a left hand drive car.

It is therefor possible that your bulb holder is in fact located at the opposite end to mine, that is, close to the number 2 on your selector as opposed to the letter P. on mine, if that is the case, it could make it easier to access the bulb holder.
