Thats an old Corsa think you meant 1994
Yes bit dissappointing my 86 Montego Turbo even had illuminated steering column switches via a fibre optic.
Is your light switch on the Merc illuminated? mine isnt yet mate of mines was cannot find how to change it. I,m sure i,ve read somewhere there was two different switches illuminated and non-illuminated.
Does anybody else know?

202 C class does NOT have illuminated light switch, regardless of what year it is.

The must be some reason for this, maybe MB's logic in thinking is that it cant be illuminated when its off, as the others only come on when its turned. the cost of lighting it from the key could to expensive. To be truthful its always in the same place on the right hand side, and you do not have to search for it as its the only one there.

It falls very easily to hand can't say it's anything I'd find annoying;)

I will have to disagree with you here, my friends was definitly 100% illuminated the Haynes manual also refers to changing the bulb in the switch (but as so often is the case with Haynes its c**p).
Its not a problem but if its supposed to be illuminated i,d rather it work than not.

There is a bulb in the switch, the rear fog warning light bulb, it's in the centre spindle, pull off the handle and you will see it.

Yes i know about that one it illuminates when the rear fog lights are on.
My mates had another "switch" illumination bulb.

Warning lamps must be provided where fog lamps are fitted as they are illegal when there is no fog and they are turned on in some countries.

I thought this was the case, but the 202 has no lamp indication for the front fogs only when you pull the switch again and put the rear one on do you get the lamp on.

This is where some differences come in, on cars destined for places like Sweden and Canada. As time goes by these differences get less.

There is definitely no light switch illumination on the W202. I have a 1994 C200 and this was one of my questions on this forum as I thought it should light up.
Would be nice if it did though :???:

I have never known a C Class (202) that does have a light switch that illuminates apart from the fog light warning.
