Lighting???

the rotary knob that turns the lights on and off is it supposed to light up like the rest of the dials and knobs when lights are switched on? it has a orange blob in the middle of the knob if it is supposed to light up how do you change bulb? can you just pull it off like the ones on the centre console

No, the knob is not illuminated

The blob lights up when you have the rear fog light on, but the periphery doesn't illuminate.

If you turn the knob to park or dip position then pull the knob out a bit, your front fog lights will come on if you then pull the knob out a bit further the orange light will come on and your rear fog lights will come on.

Not sure how you change bulb, never had to.

You just pull off the knob same way as the heater knobs, in the centre of the spindle there is a small wedge type lamp. If the knob is hard to pull use pliers with a soft guard (rag or cardboard) to prevent the jaws scratting the plastic up.

The lamp is an MOT requirement it indicates that the rear fog lamp is on.
