Limiter on Cruise Control

I have just purchased a C200 which I now find has a permanent limiter fitted to the C control. (drops out at 65) It does not have a facility to vary the setting.
Question? is there anyway this can be modified or replaced>

At the risk of stating the obvious, with the limiter button depressed, have you tried moving the stalk up and down to change the limit which is displayed on the dial??

When you initially depress the limiter button I think it locks on to the nearest 5mph incremment above the speed you are travelling at when you press it . Have a 'play' as it may well be working !

Tony thanks for the reply, but I do not have a button on the stalk, thats the problem, mine is fitted with CC but has a built in limiter, this is because it was (as far as I can ascertain) built for a foriegn market.
What I am trying to find out is there any means of increasing the built in limiter so that it does not activate i.e. set it to something like 120mph

Can you take a pickie of the cruise control stalk till i get a look

Jason, the dealer has sorted it, It is not fitted with a means of applying the limitier, The dealer reset a 9 digit code (apparantly) but problem remained, then he noticed that two of the tyres were different, these were replaced and the problem has gone. no limiter comes in. I can now use C Con throughout the range. Seems like the problem was like a previous post, connected to the sensors on the wheels. Worth remembering.Thanx for your help.
