Hi all, strange one this, I have a 1999 E240 W210, 67k running ok untill I drive through a local village named Louth (Lincolnshire) around 15 miles from my home, every time I get to the outskirts of this place the car goes into limp home, ie not revving over 3k and no power, all is ok if I turn car off and re-start, strange thing is this happens to my wifes BMW E46 around this location also, it throws an engine management light on the BM's dash and a P0165 fault code (cat fault) this has also happened to my father's new Golf.
Could there be interference from newly built mobile phone masts causing this? or radio masts, maybe.
At a loss to this, anybody had similar problems?

I would imagine you're right. Phone mast, garage door opener, even a wireless internet connection, or some mad scientist in his garage trying to replicate the earths magnetic field?

It used to be the case that underground high voltage cables produced a buzz as you went over their road crossings. This was when you were tuned to Luxembourg or the Light Programme! It doesn't happen these days.
So there is certainly an electromagnetic field from this kind of thing.
Louth is probably a prime spot for alien landings though. Look for pieces of titanium space vehicle scattered about. XXX factor?
