Hi my 2015 Mercedes g class 350d went into limp mode today with no warning lights on.
I stopped and restarted and all was ok.
I have no idea why this happened
I have been told I should check transmission oil level but can’t locate where it is
Any advice would be appreciated

dip sticks on auto gearboxes have long since been removed as they became 'sealed for life'. In reality you need to get under the car to check it & even then it's not a straight forward job. I'd doubt that ATF level would have been the cause of your car going into limp .... it needs plugging in to see if the car has logged a code & go from there

My E350CDI did the same about 5 years ago. Went into limp mode about 3 times before staying in limp mode.
Cause was the the oil seal on the turbo boost sensor.

What scanner did you use ?
It needs a Mercedes specialist to plug in with the correct equipment not just a generic scanner to read codes

Took it to garage and scanner showed faulty sensor which was replaced.
A couple of weeks later started to go into limp mode again.
Took it back to garage today but no fault codes showed up
They suggested changing fuel filter which I agreed
It seems they may be guessing now
Any ideas please

Need someone who is not guessing but knows the marque.

My guess is Actuator
