Can anybody tell me what the little red light is just above the 120 on the temp gauge please.
New car to me but got no books with it also can't find the answer on the net.
I noticed it last night but it was off this morning but when i got in the car this afternoon it was back on again.
Temp stay's solid at 90.
Thanks for taking time to look.

Have you checked the water level? If it is too low it can trigger the light on some cars as it is unable to take a proper reading..

Thanks for the reply.
Car is new to me but i did top up the coolant along with doing a bit of a service myself.
Coolant is still up to the mark.
Also from looking online i think you get a warning pop up saying low coolant but not had that.

Yes the cap is as tight as it will go.
Turned it until it stops and it is a tight turn if you get what i am saying.
Been looking online again this morning and no mention of this light any ware all others have a symbol on them.

I topped the coolant tank to about 3 to 4cm from the top and the light has stayed off on a 50 mile run.
So it has to be the level sensor i think.
Strange that this particular light is not shown in any manual's i found on line and no little picture thing on it.
Might buy a new sensor that should sort it for good.
Thanks again for the replies.

as Trev above suggests, more like coolant temp sensor rather than level sensor
