Hi just bought a w164. 4 days after fetching it home had a soot level too high eml and noticed thermostat wasn't getting to temp so took back to dealer to mend th8nking that was the problem.
10 days later I get the car back, getting upto temperature now but plugged scanner on to find attached live data. Can anybody shead any light on this? To me it looks like dpf has been mapped out, negative differential pressure and zero km readings are ringing alarm bells to me.
Car had been running for an hour when data was taken

Any help appreciated thanks

Ash content at 2g seems that the DPF is empty but the live data readings dont look correct to me. You should be able to see the soot content and fill time of the DPF on live data too. If you cant I'd say thats just a limitation of your scanner.

If your sus, speak to a MB specialist and have it looked at.

Have live data, the soot and ash levels never moved and the differential pressure moved between -2 and zero almost continuously.

If you unplug the the dpf pressure sensor it should throw a code and eml , I guess if it's mapped out it won't ??

You may be worrying over nothing depending on your scan tool. Did you take the car to a MB dealer - MB dealers are bad but they would surely would not delete the DPF.

The temp up stream of the turbo at 1200degC isn't plausible.

zero km readings

The table shows no values which is different to a 0. The blank suggests the ECU did not respond to the tools request to read the DIDs.
If there was a response, even if 0 that would show, as it does for the EGR temp, not that looks plausible either.

I've not used a Topdon tool but it's quite possible it's trying to request data for items it knows exist on some MBs but aren't supported on yours. A tool shouldn't do that though. Even for those few items that show plausible values, I'd be hesitant to trust it

I use the icarsoft MB V3. A fantastic machine that has paid for itself immediately. However it does have shortcomings on certain cars which you may notice the more you use it and the deeper you play with it.
I actually updated it last month - first time since I got it. Keep it updated to iron out and niggles.

Not an mb dealer, independent. They have a local garage to them they send car to for repairs

This was also present 2 weeks ago at my local garage with their snap on machine. That sensor is on the underside of the turbo was supposed to be changed before I collected the car

Have you check to see if the cars pipes from the pressure sensor are blocked? Or partially blocked this can give a false reading. I had to clean mine out once a year.

No, had it on the ramp this afternoon, they've cut the DPF out and welded it back up... Quite obviously, have sent a formal complaint today via email and recorded mail as when I rung stating my name the manager had gone for lunch and was going to ring me back

Yes, often the values are empty or implausible when the DPF has been programmed out
