Load cover bar, am I missing a trick?

Hello and seasons greetings

I have a "10" plate E350 estate, and am trying to release the cover bar. I press the button as directed, but the bar will not move away from the fitted position.

Is there somethings else to press, twist or lift?

Any guidance would be most welcome, and thanks for reading this.

Viewed from the back of the car with the tailgate open the release press button is on the top left of the bar and it should pull/slide horizontally and unhook from the right hand side there is no other release

Is it a case of push the button and pull the collar on the end of the bar toward middle of the vehicle?

Thanks for your words...

Have just managed to release it employing some "gentle persuasion". It looks like when the button is depressed it doesn't lift the locking blade clear of the locking plate allowing the bar to move away from the fitted position. I will look at this more closely before it goes back.
