Loading Navigation CD v10.0 into AUDIO 30 APS

My friend let me borrow CD3 from his car so I can load it on my car.

I put it into the CD deck but nothing happens, It recognizes it as a NAV CD but I have no idea how to install it and overwrite the current NAV which is version 7.0

Do I need all the cd's 1 through 5? I only took number 3 since that is the countries I need.

Is there a special way of loading the nav cd into memory?

Then maybe the problem is that you cant use the disc when you are not in that country.

I have the next one along from you,,and I am in the UK,, if I insert the Europe or Scandinavia disc it will ask me to insert the UK disc and the other disc will only work when you are in that country

I've done this in ours

and it asks whether to erase old map data and load new map data.
Try entering an actual address you have abroad.

Tried it and it was a NO GO. Keeps asking for navigation CD. I asked my buddy to give me all the CDs and tried it and it was a NO GO.

He gave me COPIES as that is all he was given when the car was sold to him.( not originals) They work fine in his car but not in mine. I am thinking maybe there is come kinda copy protection that does not allow for copies to be installed ?

I dunno

The MB CD players vary a lot, a copy disc does not have the high reflectivity of a commercial disc and this can vary from CD laser to another

Burn them again using Verbatim discs at 1x or 2x write speed.

Some of these units are very fussy about the discs they read.

And if it works will you send me a copy of the UK disc?? :D

I have a mate who has just got a car with this in and it won't read his disc, but it looks scratched.

I replaced the laser on the becker traffic pro with a new one from ebay, it was £32 delivered and then read everything.

Hi, I found similar problems when copying the disks. In the end I managed to using a slow setting and copying the disk exactly using Nero. At the time I didn't want to leave the originals in the car as I thought they may get damaged. In the end it worked so well, I just stuck the originals on eBay and now run off the copy. I think there is an 'upgrade disk' as part of the set as this updates the firmware in the nav unit. Before you can use the nav disks it needs the firmware update in order to implement any additional functionality.

V10 is on eBay for about £150 (originals).

do you know which one of the five is the update

disc.
I have just got a manual (in german) and it says somthing about updates, but I have only tried the UK/Irl disc, and the finland one for fun.
My unit picks up the local satellites, and shows its true position here, but plots routes from the middle of Berlin.
The manual says that after car transportation eg ferry or car/rail, eurotunnel etc, the unit may need relocalising. This is done by driving around with the disc in, no destination selected, radio on, and pressing the ' i ' button from time to time until the unit gives you the correct street name for where you are. At least half-an-hour of that last night has me still in the middle of Berlin.

Not sure where you got your info from but...running a copy disk WILL decrease the life of the laser as copied disks do not have the reflectivity as originals so it will need to re-read a lot more and hence will run slower. Using/making copies is illegal.

V10 does not require any updates to work. It loads and runs its own update then its ready to go.

Does anyone know if there is a big difference in Version 10.0 for Audio 30 APS to version 10.1. I am running Version 7.0 so an update would be good, I just want to know if there is a big gap between the two above stated versions? Oh and do I need anything else, or can I just insert either one of the two versions and away I go?

Thanks,

Terry.

Hello and welcome, it is said that the latest version is very much better than the previous, take the newest, you just stick it in and play
