Hello all does anyone know the where abouts the ambient air temp sensor on a E200 r reg unless is 25 c at night mine is knackered.

It will be next one of the front fog lights, in the removeable pannel in the grill on the front bumper, wots most likly happened is it has been pushed through and is next to something warm and giving a incorrect reading. it should just pop into the small hole in the pannel faceing the front of the car

Hi,
Replaced my C230K one recently. It had come adrift from the bumper grill insert and fallen below and was hanging down under the car. It had been displaying inaccurate measurements so a trip to MB Southampton and approx. £10 later.
Upon removal, one of the very thin contacts on the sensor was very corroded and green (oxidised copper) i did wonder about cleaning it but because of the construction of the sensor it would,nt be very easy, and I did,nt want to be picking out the broken sensor pin from the plug, after being weakened from cleaning.
Replacing the sensor in the passenger side bumper grill it was a wonder it fell out at all as it was really tight to fully push home till it clicked.
Hoped this has been of some help to you.
